Olé! Burrito Bistro

Fresh, fast food, and gourmet coffee all in one? - by Susan

If you’re in the mood for West Coast inspired Mexican, B2 Burrito Bistro has reinvented fast food. B2 has a stylized earth-toned interior filled with contemporary local artwork, lots of seating and a nice big flat screen TV. The food is all made to order. It’s fresh, actually healthy, and it tastes so good. This is the way fast food should be. They have a varied menu, all of it worth tasting.

Start with their homemade soups, chili, or delish Tostada salad. It gets harder when you get to the main course... they have traditional burritos with beans, cheese, fresh guacamole, grilled peppers that come with your choice of veggie, chicken, steak, pork, or fish. Or try a newfangled Modern Burritos like the Thai Burrito with chicken satay peanut sauce, and cilantro; or the Boston Blue with steak, blue cheese, grilled onions and rice; or maybe the Hawaiian with teriyaki steak, rice, pineapple, and veggies. I'm still working my way thru their menu.

They only have a few sides but they are all great: freshly made tortilla chips and a salsa bar, beans and rice. Their guacamole is made fresh every single day, and they have chili and cheese dips too. Everything comes in two sizes and they have a kids menu for the little ones.

All sounds great, doesn't it? Well B2 takes it further... they offer gourmet coffee drinks, smoothies, beer and wine; they carry a lot of free newspapers (Times, Globe, etc) to read and get this... free Wi fi. And better yet, they don't mind if you sit there for hours and surf the net.

I have to be honest and say there are a few tiny downsides you should know about...

1) You have to order at a counter and pick up your meal;
2) B2 is in Southwind Plaza, a shopping center in Hyannis (across the street from the Mall), which as of this writing, has a lot of empty stores in it, but a Panera Bread and Kmart are still there (plenty of parking is the up side of that).

So, next time you want an inexpensive lunch or dinner, head on over to B2 Burrito Bistro. It’s worth the trip.
